The organization regulates traffic and promotes sustainable transportation between the different competition venues.

On the occasion of the WHOOP UCI MTB World Series World Cup, taking place from July 10 to 12, the resort has implemented a special mobility plan with the aim of facilitating spectator access, ensuring smooth circulation, and offering the best possible experience for attendees, while also promoting more sustainable mobility.

The plan includes traffic restrictions, reinforcement of public transport, shuttle services, a new distribution of paddocks, and a specific area for motorhomes.

Traffic restrictions

During July 10, 11, and 12, access will be restricted on the road to Pal, starting from the Amorriadors area, according to the established plan.

Access will be reserved exclusively for accredited vehicles. For this reason, the organizers recommend accessing the event via the La Massana gondola, which will be the main access route for spectators. Using public transport and the services provided by the organization to reach the resort is also recommended.

Enhanced public transport

To access the World Cup, it is recommended to use public transport to La Massana. Spectators can arrive via regular bus lines and, once in the parish, access the resort with the La Massana gondola (the main access to the event), or via the special shuttle service organized by the event. Both gondola and shuttle use will require a ticket for the World Cup or a Grandvalira Resorts season pass.

The transport plan will adapt to the competition schedule, with continuous rotation service. Shuttles will depart every 30 minutes from Pal (departure point may vary depending on the day) and La Massana, making a first stop in front of Prat Gran de La Massana and continuing along all the usual route stops.

Friday

  • From 9:30 am to 4:00 pm: Continuous rotation between La Massana and Fontanals (downhill area).
  • From 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm: Continuous rotation between La Massana and la Caubella (cross-country area).

Saturday

  • From 8:00 am to 5:00 pm: Continuous rotation between La Massana and Fontanals (downhill area).

Sunday

  • From 8:00 am to 5:00 pm: Continuous rotation between La Massana and la Caubella (cross-country area).

Mobility between la Caubella and Fontanals

To facilitate internal travel, during the three days of competition, the organization encourages spectators to prioritize walking along the Camí del Bosc (forest path), a marked route connecting both venues, which is the best option for moving between competition areas.

New paddock distribution

This year’s World Cup features a new organization of technical areas. The Caubella area will host all team paddocks, as well as access and parking for large trucks. Fontanals, in turn, will exclusively host the technical paddock for downhill riders.

Motorhome area

Motorhomes will have a specific area set up in Pal, in the new residential area located behind the main zone. This space will maintain the same services as in previous editions:

  • Grey water disposal point.
  • Restrooms.
  • Additional services for users.
  • Transfer service to access the resort. A pass will be required for access.

Bicycle access

Road access to the World Cup by bicycle will be allowed and is considered one of the most sustainable options for getting to the event. Spectators arriving by bike must leave it in the designated and supervised “bike parking” areas during event hours. There will be two secure parking points: one at la Caubella and another at Fontanals.

As for mountain bike access, Bike Park users with a valid pass can reach la Caubella using the La Massana gondola. During the World Cup, the resort will remain open with five circuits in the lower part of the Bike Park, available with a special rate of €25 for adults and €19 for children.

Access by riding up to the Caubella area will be reserved exclusively for Bike Park users with a valid pass.

Recommendations for attendees

To ensure a safe and comfortable experience, Pal Arinsal recommends using public transport whenever possible, planning trips in advance, respecting signs and the instructions of mobility staff, prioritizing walking routes between la Caubella and Fontanals—especially the Camí del Bosc—and wearing suitable footwear and protecting yourself from the sun throughout the day.

This plan has been designed to ensure efficient mobility, reduce traffic impact, and help spectators, teams, and organizers enjoy a safe and sustainable World Cup.
