The village
The mountains and landscapes are the main assets of la Massana, a town where you can enjoy outdoor sports all year round.
In winter, snow sports take center stage, while during the rest of the months, activities such as skyrunning, hiking, and cycling prevail. La Massana boasts one of the most impressive infrastructures in southern Europe for mountain biking, including events like the Mountain Bike World Cup and the Pal-Arinsal Bike Park.
One of la Massana's distinctive features is the quality of its chefs. Visitors will appreciate a wide and comprehensive tourism offering, including well-equipped hotels, wellness services, and a variety of leisure and cultural attractions: la Massana Còmic museum, Casa Rull museum, and La Farga Rossell are must-see destinations, along with annual events like the plant and flower fair, Andoflora, and several markets.
Comapedrosa natural Park
We recommend the ascent to the top of Comapedrosa, the highest peak in the Principality of Andorra, at 2,942 meters.
The view from this giant stone is truly spectacular. Comapedrosa natural Park, covering an area of 15.42 km², offers a network of hiking trails and high mountain refuges so that everyone can plan their own excursion. We invite you to discover the impressive high mountain landscapes and the native fauna and flora.
The Comapedrosa interpretive Circuit is a route of just 2 km and low difficulty level, allowing everyone to explore this fantastic space.
La Massana Ciclista
La Massana is full of varied cycling routes ranging from modern road cycling to extreme mountain bike descents.
The cycling parish has a wide network of road routes and paths where cycling enthusiasts can find options in any of their modalities and levels. Great professionals in the discipline highlight the area of Coll de la Botella or Port d’Arinsal, as well as the Pal-Arinsal Bike Park, home to numerous World Cups in DH, XCO, and XCC.
The new cyclotourism Plan is committed to installing bicycle parking, creating ebike routes, and diversifying areas for safe cycling. It is now complemented by the creation of the La Massana Ciclista label, with the ultimate goal of directly involving the parish's establishments and enhancing the experience for visiting cyclists. With this label, cyclists will know that the establishment offers them water and fruit, as well as providing tire inflators and other tools, bike storage space, and charging points for e-bikes.
Starlight territory
La Massana has a unique sky, it is one of the darkest skies in southern Europe!
On January 10, 2023, La Massana received the double Starlight certification, which includes the Tourist Destination and Starlight Reserve: Andorra Comapedrosa. This international recognition certifies that our parish enjoys a dark sky free of light pollution, ideal for nighttime astronomical observation.
As a result, astrotourism has become one of the pillars of La Massana, both in terms of the tourist offer and the more educational and discovery-oriented aspects of the dark sky. Throughout the year, various astronomical activities are organized, such as the Astronomy Festival, which has already seen two editions, or guided observations to explore the sky with the naked eye.
Epicentre of sustainable gastronomy
Take home a local souvenir: “The taste of la Massana”.
La Massana is mountains, history, sport, emotions and gastronomy. In our parish you will find variety and quality as well as a secret ingredient: respect for the product, the land and tradition. Our cooking offers mountain, homemade and market recipes. Traditional Andorran cuisine, popular festivals and picnics with breathtaking views. Moreover, la Massana is a melting pot of cultures, which is reflected in its gastronomy. Take a route through Asia, Mexico, the Middle East or Portugal without leaving the parish and don't miss the best Argentinian barbecues at an altitude of over 1,000 metres.
Whether covered in snow or dressed in green, in la Massana you can enjoy its gastronomy all year round!
