The South African, who resides in Andorra, completed a final strong performance to mark the end of his career in the World Championships.
Greg Minnaar today completed his 28th and last participation in a UCI MTB World Championship in Pal Arinsal. The South African, who resides in Andorra, finished 23rd in the Elite downhill final with a time of 2'42"300, just 3 seconds and 639 milliseconds slower than the winner of the event, Loris Vergier. With this race, Minnaar has brought his World Championship career to a close, with only the last two rounds of the World Series remaining to definitively end his professional career at the age of 43. In an emotional conclusion, the South African also had the special honor of presenting the gold medal to the winner.
