BTT Volunteer

Organising World Championships requires a LARGE TEAM of people to make it all possible: resort staff, external staff and, the SOUL of any event, VOLUNTEERS. Their mission is to make life easy for attendees and competitors, improving their event experience.

The main requirement is MOTIVATION to contribute to the success of an international event at the highest level. There are lots of different posts, allowing individuals to contribute their skills, both in the sporting arena and in support roles.

Once volunteer applications have been received, there is a selection process to assign people the appropriate post based on their personal profile, previous experience and availability. The minimum availability is 3 days and the maximum is 7 days. Volunteers agree to respect the working hours and instructions given by the event organisers.

Volunteers must be over 18 years of age for all posts, except entertainment roles.

Volunteer posts

  • Marshals or Signaleurs in French: people who are on the circuits (DHI, XCO, XCC, E-BIKE) warning competitors of any dangers or accidents. They also occasionally assist spectators by answering questions or giving instructions to guarantee safety, ensuring that the circuit is free of any danger for the racers. They have a radio and a whistle to perform this role, as well as an identifying vest. They also receive prior training (online) explaining the details of the role.
  • Access control and support for arrivals: they perform access control with authentication in restricted areas, either for access to the track, arrival area or within the arrival area, amongst others. They also perform support tasks such as providing the athletes with water and tidying up the area once the race is finished. At public access points or public crossings across the circuits; they guarantee the safety of both of these, limiting passage at certain times during the races.
  • Timing support: support for the external professional timing team, performing manual timing or being at different points along the circuits to assist with any incident.
  • Chaperones (anti-doping): accompanying of the athletes to the anti-doping tests that are carried out, providing support to the Andorran Anti-doping Agency (AGAD).
  • Authentication, press room and race office: they perform administrative and supports tasks to assist the professional teams that manage these areas.
  • Entertainment: this is a team of young people who support the professional teams that provide entertainment at arrivals, in the stands and in different locations of the resort.
